Ernest Bevin MP, who was born in Winsford, Somerset served as the Minister of Labour and National Service during World War 2. The Headquarters of the V Corps, US Army was based at Norton Manor near Taunton
This map details towns, larger villages, rivers and the industrial and agricultural products produced within those areas. It gives special mention to the role of the Women's Land Army and the importance of British farms along with excerpts of Winston Churchill's speeches.
