Proud Hampshire towns and cities such as Southampton and Portsmouth played key roles in World War II providing training training grounds for armed forces, stationing American and Canadian force and was a key area in providing rehearsals for D-Day and in the actual landings themselves.

The map details towns, larger villages, rivers and agricultural products produced within those areas. It gives special mention to the role of the Women's Institute and the importance of British farms along with excerpts of Winston Churchill's speeches.
