The full title of this stunning reproduction piece is "Plan of the Town and Castle of Windsor and Little Park, Town and College of Eton". Created by William Collier in 1742 it was dedicated to the Noble Charles, Duke of Marlborough, Knight of the most Noble Order of the Garter.
The map features a 35 piece key of places of interest within Windsor and Eton. A proposed plan of the Gardens is shown in the upper right corner whilst a vignette of the eastern prospect of Windsor Castle features in the upper left.
There are detailed notes on the history of Windsor and Eton found bordering the lower edge of the map.
This is a rare piece that I have extensively restored and is therefore highly sought-after work which is sure to form an interesting conversation piece to any living room. This piece looks stunning mounted as shown in our A2 framed edition.
